Jumu’ah prayer is presently held at Ellerslie Curling Club, just a couple of blocks down from JRJ on the same road.
STANDARD TIME: Jama’t is at 1:15 pm sharp. Imam’s speech (bayaan) that precedes prayer begins at 12:45pm.
DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME: Jama’t is at 2:15 pm sharp. Imam’s speech (BAYAN) that precedes prayer begins at 1:45pm.
Evening Madrassah/Nazra Qur’an
Jamia Riyadhul Jannah Edmonton offers evening Qur’an classes for children from Monday to Thursday every week. Classes are held from 5:30pm – 7:00pm and are held separately for boys and girls.
One of the latest additions to the services offered at JRJ has been an Islamic library. The library includes a rich variety of texts in Arabic, Urdu and English that cover a large range of subjects. Amongst others, books on Aqeedah, Fiqh, Seerah, Islamic history, Tafseer, Hadith, Poetry, and contemporary issues can be found in the library. In the future, the library will be expanded to include texts that cover a wider breadth of subjects as well as providing increased depth. At present, the only requirement for using the library is a onetime fee.
Jamia Riayadhul Jannah is becoming one of the leading mosques in Edmonton for engaging Canadians of different faiths in dialogue. Interfaith dialogues help Muslims and non-Muslims to understand each other’s views on beliefs, issues, and challenges. They help in uniting the community and making Canada a better place for all Canadians.
